I think I'm just going to ramble on about random things for a few minutes, if you'll indulge me.

Last Saturday's Songwriters at the Ranch show was a smashing success! Allen Shamblin, Austin Cunningham, Renee Coale Willis and I performed for a crowd of about 400 people, and the whole night just had an extra-special vibe. I think plans have already begun for a repeat performance next Fall! Heard some incredible songs and, as always, we weren't short on laughs and interesting stories behind the songs. Food was good and new friendships were formed, and it just doesn't get any better than that!

Spent a few days prior to San Antonio in Chicago promoting Nashville and it's unique position as the Music City. It's great to be able to talk about songwriting and the music biz to folks who aren't familiar with it, but are very interested. Also got to play some intimate shows with Karen Staley, a great writer, artist, and . . . as we all found out . . . comedian! It was a really an awesome week!

Randy Montana has been in the studio working on some sides for his debut project for Universal Records. I've heard it . . . it sounds AMAZING! SO excited for him and can't wait till y'all hear what's going on!

Speaking of Randy, he was on the show at Victory Junction in Randleman, NC along with Kyle Petty, Steve Dean, Don Poythress, Jimmy Edmonds and yours truly. We all played songs, told stories, and cut up a lot at a show to raise funds for the amazing camp that serves children who are suffering from chronic medical conditions and/or serious illness. What a worthwhile night it was! Really a great blessing to be a part of a show like that.

Ash Bowers' single, "Stuck," that I wrote with Frank Myers, continues to get radio airplay in markets around the country and is knockin' on the door of the Top-40, so if you think of it, call your local country radio station and see if they're playing it. If they are, by golly, ask 'em to play it for YOU!

Gotta hit the road for now. Hope y'all are doing well!
Blessings!
Billy

Billy, first of all, are you and William Schlappi one-in-the-same? If you are, I wanted to tell you that I have really enjoyed listening to the CD you gave my husband and me last night after we returned your wallet. We listened to it on the way home, and I listened to it again today. It's good music.

I'm glad we could help you last night. God bless!
