Wow! What a year '08 has been for my family and me! Many exciting things took place throughout this calendar year and I am an extremely blessed person.
Some family highlights include Donna's and my oldest son, Randy, getting married to Montgomery Lee Petty at the end of May. It was a storybook-like wedding for two people who love each other deeply, and all who were there felt the presence the One who IS love! You can check out photos on my sister Kris' website: www.stahlphotography.myphotoalbum.com Click on "Our Trip to the Wedding"
Randy has since signed as a staff songwriter with Sony/ATV in Nashville and plans to follow in his old man's footsteps for awhile! Check out his MySpace page to hear some music. It's cool!
A week prior to the wedding, our daughter, Danielle, graduated Salutatorian of her class and delivered a salutatory address that inspired everybody who was there . . . maybe mostly her father! She always worked hard throughout her high school career, and it was gratifying to see her achieve such a great goal. Her enrollment in college has left Donna and me with a mostly-empty nest . . . just us and a couple of cats!
Our middle child, Charlie, had an exciting year highlighted by a mission trip to Jamaica over his Spring break and an entire summer working as a camp counselor at Kyle and Pattie Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC - a camp for severely ill kids. It was a life-changing experience . . . for the all the kids that attend and for Charlie! And Charlie has a heart that's suited perfectly for that kind of work! Check out the camp's website at www.victoryjunction.org
So much more went on than I get into right now - great gigs with some of my friends, lots of great music being made and played . . . but suffice it to say the Montanas had a banner year. For all of you whose paths we've crossed, I hope your year was a great one and I hope and pray for a terrific 2009!
